Our Story...

 

Our story began less than a week after Meghan had moved to New York. We first met at a going away party for one of Jon's friends who was a friend of a friend to Meghan at the Brass Monkey Bar in NYC. The first date was a week later (8/8/08) and the rest was history.

 

The engagement was perfectly planned on Jon's part and Meghan was completely surprised.  Jon wrote a special smartphone app just for this occasion.

 

"Jon asked me last minute that day if I wanted to go to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner and I said sure.  After drinks and our salads he mentioned amidst our conversation that one of his friends had sent him a link to a quiz you could take where you could win free Harry Potter opening night tickets.  Being a huge fan of course I demanded he send it to me right away so I could get the tickets.  I agreed to the legal pages and started the quiz and was completely confused when the next page asked 'will you marry me?.'  I was so excited and focused on getting opening night tickets that it literally took me probably 20 seconds to realize what was going on.  He brought out the ring and then I for sure realized.

 

I said yes and then Jon got a text stating that 'Meghan Petty said yes.'  Then he made me go back and say no so I could see it say 'Oh No...You killed Dumbledore' and ask if I would like to reconsider.  He totally surprised me which is hard to do!"
